General notes and informations

There are two ways to enjoy a trekking experience!
Choose an offer in our programme or request your personal trekking experiences of varying durations and accommodation packages, for groups of 5 persons min.
Saturday night arrival at the Farmhouse and the first consultation. We'll discuss how the trek is organized and where we will go, while you talk about your experience on horseback so that the guides will be able to match horse and rider.
The accomodations
There are two different types of accommodation on the trek, either in agrituristic establishments on the way, or sleeping in tents under the stars.
Our pic-nic is prepared in the morning and is packed in the saddlebags.
Your horse is assigned after a chat with the guide, who matches horse with rider. His or her decision is based not only on horse-rider experience but also on personality factors. On Sunday we'll take an all-day ride to try out the horse, tack and equipment.
The tack
The equipment consists of a Western saddle with the addition of saddlebags for the transport of personal objects and the picnic.
Daily rides
A day stage usually the duration of each day's ride is between 5-6 hours.
Riding gear
Your riding gear should be comfortable and most importantly, should not be brand new (especially footwear), since new gear often holds unpleasant surprises. The footwear should be comfortable not only for riding, but also for walking, with a hard sole that permits a good contact between foot and stirrup. Footwear with a slick sole and very tight clothing should be avoided. The trousers should be comfortable and robust. You may also need a raincoat (available for rental), a hat for protection, a portable light, a small knife, swimwear, and a sleeping bag; you should bring along a light jumper for the evening. The belongings together should not be too bulky since there is limited space on the transport vehicle and in the saddlebags. Please avoid suitcases with a hard surface.
First aid
Your guide can provide basic medication and will take along a first-aid kit on the trek. Any health conditions that require special medication should be brought to the attention of the guide before departure on the trek. Allergy sufferers should bring their own medicines, as those who suffer allergies from common medications.
Accomodation in tents
Organisation of a trekking experience in tents

Overnight stays in tents in campsites which we specially equip gives our guests a fascinating experience. We set up our campsites in areas far away from city lights and noise, allowing us to discover nature that is untouched by human habitation. Also, the chance to stay together in the evening around the campfire gives each trek a unique quality, making the experience a true journey in every sense.
The travel is the greatest pleasure for a rider who loves nature. Participating in the trip and assisting both in the care for the horses and in the workings of the camp makes the holiday more pleasing and complete.
Two guides accompany the riders on horseback and another guide travels with an off-road vehicle and organizes the camp.
Off-road vehicle
Transports all of the necessary equipment including our guests' baggage.
The camp
The tent camp consists of a large tent with chairs and tables which we use for breakfast and dinner, a changing tent, igloo tents for sleeping up to two guests which are equipped with comfortable mattresses, a portable kitchen ready to satisfy the biggest appetites, and a water supply for drinking and personal hygiene. For our horses, we supply a portable fence, horse feed, and hay, if necessary.
The camp kitchen
We have designed a trailer which is equipped with all the cooking and refrigeration equipment necessary to offer you delicious meals which you can enjoy seated together under the dining tent.
Accomodation in agrituristic establishments
For those who enjoy travelling on horseback but prefer to sleep indoors, we organize treks with accommodation in agrituristic establishments. The organization of these treks is the same as for those organized in tents, with the exception of dining and sleeping arrangements. We have chosen the best agrituristic establishments of the zone in order to offer you the chance to enjoy the authentic cuisine and products of southern Tuscany.
